Second half of the 12th century
Bowl with Inlaid Double Fish Design
H. 5.8 cm; Diam. 19.0 cm

The vessel has a wide flared mouth, deep wall, and short ring foot. The base reveals three spur marks. The upper edge of the interior wall is decorated with grass scrolls. There are five roundels inside the bowl—the one in the center is decorated with a chrysanthemum while the other four with a double fish motif—the eyes, contours, and scales are inlaid in black and white. The exterior wall is decorated with alternative motifs of floral roundels and vine scrolls. Adorned below the mouth and on the lower belly are grass scrolls and lines. This vessel is slightly unsymmetrical in shape. The vessel is fully covered with slightly grayish green glaze.
